This painting has been keeping me busy in the studio for the past few weeks.  It's been a lot of fun painting it, although I will admit that the the white fence, lighthouse and buildings had me really worried about how to bring out the details and still capture the essence of the scene.  I am really happy with how it came out.  And it looks even better in person.

This young woman was spotted at a motorcycle rally in the Midwest getting her body painted.  The photo was taken by my friend Kerry, who graciously granted me permission to paint it and supplied the image.

Lots of fun to paint these apples and leaves.  Used a few different techniques to get the look I wanted.  Painted mostly alla prima, but used additional layers of glazing on the background and leaves to get the shading I was looking for.
